If you're new here, I'm André, a tech entrepreneur and founder of LaunchFast, a stack that helps web developers build in a weekend what it would take them 2 months. I post daily updates on my progress from 0⬠to 10k⬠by the end of 2024.
Alright my friends, here was yesterdayās plan:
Apply SEO tags to the directory listing
Implement the rest of the tips from Zaid, including creating a better logo
Extract insights from the 9 recorded test drives with devs and make a list of improvements
Implement the improvements on that list, one by one, for a delightful CLI experience
Record a video showing off LaunchFast (and posting it EVERYWHERE š)
Keep looking for people to help on š, because I love to
And hereās what got done:
Got better at š
Applied SEO tags to the directory listing
Registered LaunchFast on a few more directories
Created LaunchFastās community
Got better at š
One of the best ways to grow on š is a strategy I like to call audience siphoning. You subscribe to big accounts in your industry and activate all notifications for them. And when they say something, you get in there and give your support, perspective, or opinion. This will get you a lot of followers and impressions.
I wanted to be the first to reply to those big accounts, so I needed to leave notifications on in real-time. Because I subscribe to a lot of people I enjoy watching, I was receiving notifications every 3 seconds, which isnāt conducive to productivity.
So I decided to disable all notifications, except for the big accounts. That was a disaster: not receiving notifications from my friends left me feeling isolated and disconnected.
So, instead, Iāve re-enabled notifications from everyone I want to hear about, and left real-time notifications turned on, so that macOS accumulates them on Notification Center, but when itās time to focus I enable Focus Mode to prevent me from being interrupted by them.
When I finish a flowmodoro session, I disable Focus Mode and reply to all the posts I find interesting, providing my support, perspective, or opinion :)
Hereās what that looks like:
Applied SEO tags to the directory listing
This is a small thing, but it scales very well as it allows people to find you on Google.
If youāre a marketing wizard š§ let me know what I could improve on these š
Registered LaunchFast on a few more directories
Iāve found a few more directories I could submit LaunchFast to. If the result is positive, Iāll add them to the launch directories page for your convenience.
If you have ideas on how to make the directory more useful, please reach out.
Created LaunchFastās community
Iām not entirely sure a community on š, for a product like LaunchFast, is the right move, but Iāll give it a try because ever since Elon took over, Iām loving š more and more ā„ļø
Itās empty at the moment, but thatās ok. Itās a way for people to get in touch, discuss improvements, tech choices, show off examples, and so on.
Next steps
Iāve got a lot of work ahead of the launch on the 27th of August.
Hereās the game plan:
Rebrand LaunchFast as LaunchFastPro to distinguish it from other boilerplates.
Create a distinguished logo. Hereās a sneak peek:
Extract insights from the 9 recorded test drives with devs and make a list of improvements
Implement the improvements on that list, one by one, for a delightful CLI experience
Record a video of me showing off LaunchFastPro
Make the features section easier to consume. I like the way this guy does it:
Images speak louder than words š„
Thatās it for today folks, I hope you have a wonderful week ā„ļø
